Georgetown Names GSR President to Board of Advisors
Washington, D.C., March 25, 2024 – The Government Department at Georgetown University has appointed Global Situation Room President Brett Bruen to a three-year term for the Board of Advisors of their Masters programs. He has taught crisis communications at the school for the past seven years and also serves on boards at Harvard University, as well as University College Dublin. The Board is charged with strengthening the courses and “serving as ambassadors of the Programs.”
“I am proud to deepen the relationship with Georgetown and help to ensure we remain the preeminent institution in the world for public policy studies,” GSR’s Bruen said. “The challenges and crises our graduates must confront are only growing more complex. It requires a constant state of agility and adaptation. Yet, the work taking place here is truly some of the most pioneering in the field and I continue to be impressed by the extraordinarily high quality of students, along with faculty that we attract.”
GSR’s belief in the strength of Georgetown’s graduates is reflected in its staff. Two employees were hired after completing Masters at the school. Several others have spent time at the firm as interns or fellows. The firm also has a long-standing partnership with Harvard, which sends interns each summer. Apart from taking on full-time roles, intern alumni have gone on to work at the White House and leading consultancies like McKinsey.
The public affairs agency was recently selected as a top 100 agency by PR News and has continued to expand rapidly. GSR has added several staff and is currently hiring for a half dozen new positions. Its 2023 growth will be announced by trade publications in the coming weeks.
